Kickers?  I’ll get to that in a moment.

1st – I just looked up my new glasses (frames) online and found them for $140 less than what I paid.  Holy bananas.  So glad I went to a cute little mom-and-pop store in our neighborhood that was recommended by the vision insurance customer service rep.  Do you sense my sarcasm???  I should’ve known when I walked in and they didn’t have prices on anything.  :(   As much as I love supporting local businesses, I do not like being ripped off.  Moving on.

2nd – Don’t worry.  That little trip to the glasses shop did not ruin my day.  I had a few errands to run yesterday morning while Andrew worked.  We decided that we are going to try to start leaving Charley out of his crate for small periods of time when we’re gone.  It’s funny how nervous I was all morning.  A few times, I was across town and almost dropped what I was doing to go home and check on him (and maybe yell and scream a bit if I found a destroyed house).  BUT, I didn’t.  I made a trip to Michael’s for a few crafty materials for projects I’ve been planning in my head.  I will post about the end result later.  Get excited.

3rd – Boots make me smile.  Andrew forced me to buy a pair of cowboy boots yesterday.  I didn’t fight back.  I’m in love.

I got me some new sh*** kickers.  :)   I didn’t take them off until I had to…….

4th – We went to the trampoline party and had a blast.  Nothing like watching a bunch of late 20-something guys play trampoline dodge ball with a bunch of 10 year-olds.  (My camera was in the car…but here’s the website for JumpStreet)  It was a ton of fun!  Afterwards, we ran home to change (jumping = sweating) and then met everyone out for drinks and music.  Here’s Andrew with the birthday boy!

Erik’s going to be a groomsman in our wedding!  (Don’t know why my camera washes people out….it drives me nuts.)

5th – I love my little puppy dog.  He turns 1 year old on Valentine’s Day!  Right when I got ready to write this post, he jumped up next to me and snuggled up.

Oh and guess what…..NO DAMAGE was done when we left him alone yesterday!  Twice!  Is our baby boy growing up?  Or his he just  teasing us?  Either way, we were so happy to come home to a clean house and snuggly Charley Bear.  I lubs him.

Not that kind of black eye…….the kind you get when the eye Dr. dialates your eyes!  Yesterday, I left school a bit early to go to the eye doctor.  Those of you who know me, know that the eye dr. brings back lots of memories from my childhood – some funny and some not-so-funny.

Funny:  my brother and I both had to wear an eye patch over our “stronger” eyes for a whole year (I was 4). We would fight over the stickers that came in the box – because putting stickers on your eye patch makes it THAT much cooler. :) (And maybe I was caught trying to peak out of the patch with my good eye so I could watch TV….just sometimes)

Not-so-funny: The eye patch didn’t work, so I ended up wearing hard contacts for most of my childhood.  A few years ago, a doctor told me it’d be safer to wear glasses instead.  The risk of a contact (or anything else) damaging my strong eye is lower if I wear glasses regularly.  Now I typically wear glasses 8 hours/day…normally while I’m teaching or on the computer at home.  I never thought about it much, until one of my students drew a portrait of me and I was wearing glasses!  What?? I don’t wear them that often do I?  Well, yeah…I do.  And it’s time for a new pair.  The dr. dialated my eyes yesterday, upgraded my Rx, and then let me drive home.  hahaha probably not the best choice….it was sooo bright outside and everything was blurry!  Scary!  The scariest part was looking in the mirror and seeing my BLACK EYES.  For someone who has light blue eyes, it’s weird to see dark eyes!  Weird enough, that I took a pic with my iphone…(stranger things happen when I’m home alone and bored, ok?)

***Weird pic.  My eyes look crooked and I’m trying to keep them open b/c they were so sensitive (and I couldn’t see).  This was taken a few hours after I got home.  Holy dialation.  I was happy to have my vision back when I woke up this morning!

I’m off to brave the cold with Charley for a brisk walk/run. Tonight,  Andrew and I are going to a friend’s bday party…..at a TRAMPOLINE place called JumpStreet!!!  I’m so excited!  I can’t wait to play and then go out with friends.  Woo hoo!
